Is it just me or are the forums being really, really slow to load these days? I don't know if it's connected with the changes that happened a couple of days ago (timing's about right) but it's bordering on unusable right now.
No, it's not just you James, and Yes, it is borderline unusable. At a point yesterday evening (U.S. Eastern time) it was so slow that pages timed out and wouldn't load at all.
Continuing to experience off-and-on slowness, varying times, varying degrees. Never know when it'll hit. Very frustrating; sometimes seems to fail to load, can't log out, can't, can't ... Other sites are snappy when this happens at Kubuntu here.

Hey, will you guys watch the GRUB Castle while I'm blocked out here today? Thanks.
Every other site I go to snaps right up, offering me fresh coffee and cranberry tarts to enter.
I even ended up, just testing, at a friend's blog, reading about a 30-something multi-tasking blond who rolled her car on the way to work while doing her makeup, hair, telephone calls and breakfast while driving.
Pay no attention whether I'm logged in or not; it bears little correlation to where I actually am and whether I can post or not ...

EDIT: posted twice!

That is very strange because it seems to be very quick and responsive to me. I wonder if it is due to server location. The server hosting this site is in California I believe. Sorry about the slowness. Where are you located?
Alaska. There was a short period of 'latency' about 30-minutes ago, where KFN wasn't 'responding' to action requests. But, it all seems to be working again.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

Ok, OK, no need to yell ... I will look into switching servers. I have another one I could host it on. I apologize for the slowness and appreciate you all letting me know about it.
Well, this time I was unable to get into kubuntuforums.net for some 6+ hours.
Finally, I googled on kubuntu forums and selected the option to get into the forums ... index (whatever that is called). After getting in that way, I've had trouble getting logged in (same issue waiting on kubuntuforums.net after pressing Log In button). Hope I can get properly logged out after I'm done here.
