System Time

Hi!

I have set the system time, and it works correctly. But thunderbird still messes up all the time information for both outgoing and incoming emails. It's annoying. Any ideas?

Ok, here's a reply to myself for future reference. I kept on trying to set the clock and lcoal time using KDE's system settings. It correctly updates KDE clock, it was always different from but what I get from the "date" command. So, any software reading the time from the system reads it wrong. I don't know if this is a Kubuntu bug but here's a quick fix:

sudo ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/New_York /etc/localtime

Check /usr/share/zoneinfo/ to find the correct file for the location you're at
