    VLC webcam streaming

I am trying to get live audio/video streaming to work.
Can't figure out how to get VLC to do the job.
I get to the point where I am supposed to set up http streaming; I am ASSUMING that Path means something like 127.0.0.1 ?
Then I select the profile: WMV + WMA (ASF) ## because this is heading for a windows machine
On the next screen, do I "stream all elemental streams"?
When it tries to start, it spits out errors:

stream_out_standard error: no mux specified or found by extension
main error: stream chain failed for `transcode{vcodec=WMV2,vb=800,scale=1,acodec=wma2, ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:http{dst=:8080/127.0.0.1}'
main error: cannot start stream output instance, aborting

Well it's about driven me nuts. Even if I select a different profile (like MP4) I get the same errors.
Gotta work somehow. Google has not been my friend -- the instructions are for other or earlier versions of VLC, and the setup boxes don't look at all similar.
