Yeah, here we go again...
Actually, the upgrade went smoothly, except for one problem, fyi & heads up:
I (foolishly, as it turns out) set up multiarch support on my 64-bit oneiric system. Besides filling up disk space with apparently unnecessary stuff, it has caused a bit of a problem in upgrading. Turns out there are conflicts between 64-bit upgrade packages, and already installed i386 packages. It's generally the NEWS.tar.gz file, dumb thing, but it's enough for dpkg to choke on the install. So when it quits, I have to do a sudo dpkg --purge packagename:i386 and then restart the upgrade.
This is also happening frequently with daily updates. I suppose eventually the 386 packages will get flushed out.
Other than that, working fine, but it generally does during the early days, before the new features get loaded in.
Man, I wish they would go to the rolling release model, and do away with this sturm-und-drang.
