Kubuntu 11.10 installation trashed my GRUB loader?

    Greetings forum

Just upgraded to Kubuntu 11.10 awhile ago (waited almost 6 hours ). Near the end of the installation process it asked me if I want to keep my previous GRUB config or let the installation create a new one, since I'm a Linux noob, I hit the Keep button, thought that this will keep my present boot configuration (dual booting to Kubuntu 11.04 and BT5). But alas, how wrong was I!!! Now all I can do is boot into BT5 and the new Kubuntu is nowhere to be found

I've installed GRUB Customizer in BT5, from there I can see it saw the Kubuntu 11.10 partition and it is listed under OS-probe category, but no matter what I do, I can't make it show up in boot selection.

Is there a way to reconfigure the GRUB so I can select the newly installed Kubuntu?

Help here is very much appreciated and many thanks in advance

when your pc boots, right after the bios screen, hold down Shift. this will open the grub menu. there you can select the latest version to boot, and later on from a terminal you can type:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get autoremove
    to remove unnecessary files.

    good luck!
