I really like Dolphin as a simple replacement to Konqueror and VLC is a great media player.

oh...yeah...i forgot to mention the katapult in my previous post.
it's great to start applications, 'cause i kinda hate to use the mouse unless i really really need it.
and it always leaves my windoze colleagues stare at my screen in amazement when i use it.
which is a plus (and a pleasure) in itself
