Translation Tools

Hi all,

a friend who is translator wants to switch to linux, if there are translation tools for professional use.
I am searching myself of course, but if anybody knows such tools, that would be very helpful.

The tools she is working with now are:

CAT Tools (TRADOS, SDLX, Catalyst, Passolo)
PageMaker
QuarkXPress
STAR Transit
Wordfast

If you know the equivalent in linux or any other relative tool, thank you in advance.

Have you tried babel fish? http://babelfish.altavista.com/ It can be used to translate blocks of text or webpages.
There is also KBabel, however I think it's a development tool (I've never used it so I'm stupid on the subject). You can check out http://freshmeat.net/projects/kbabel/ , and http://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/manual/gettext.html to see if it's anything you might be able to use.
