    Kirocker

    I found a super karamba theme that I would like to install, however I can't figure out how to go about it. If I download the source linked from the site http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php...d&tan=55456404
    then I get an error unzipping the .tar.gz. Does anyone know how I can get this installed to my computer.

    Have you tried to uncompress it from the command line, or just using ark?

    If you used the command line, plese give us the exact error.

    If you used ark, than give us the error anyway... but check if the file has been decompressed anyway. I find that ark gives me errors with .tar.gz files always, but correctly decompress them anyway.

    Javier.

        Re: Kirocker

        Apologies, I was stupid enough to not notice that there were install instructions on that page, following them I had to open up the folder created during unzipping (which, as javier predicted did unzip even though it came up with an error) and then run the command
        ./configure --prefix=$(kde-config --prefix) && make && sudo make install
        however when I do I get the ouput

        I was wondering what the error on the last line means and how I can go about solving it.
        Sorry again about the earlier post.

          Re: Kirocker

          First you will need to make sure you have the package 'build-essential' installed, as well as 'kdelibs4-dev'. This will install a lot of the needed tools and devel packages you will need to start compiling. After running './configure' you may still see an error, but this will lead us to whatever missing package(s) may be needed to compile, but I think you will have all the ones kirocker needs

            Done. The first time I tried it had an error but was clever enough to tell me that I needed to get automake1.9. This done I ran it again and the install worked fine. Thanks for your help.
