Problem when typing complex characters in gtk apps - iBUS

Well as stated above I'm using iBus and Anthy to type japanese characters in Kubuntu 10.04.

Everything works fine, but when I want to type japanese characters in gtk+ apps, the layout is not the one set system-wide, but the standard azerty (which I don't use).

So is it a bug ? And if so, a bug of kde/gnome or iBus or Anthy or Kubuntu ?
Or is it a preference problem in one of the mentionned programs ?

    Thank you !

You might like to review HOWTO: Installing Japanese Input & Font Setup in Kubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid) - SKIM. While written for Intrepid (at the time), it likely will still work here in Lucid.

Well I'll have a look then, even though I think that there has been much change over time but thanks nonetheless.
