Can you give us a few more details? Please define "when it enters Kubuntu". What is the LAST message that you see BEFORE the screen gets messed up? Please define "messed up". Is the screen blank, blurry, wavy, fuzzy?

      Re: Intel tv output problem

I have the same issue. I have a (now infamous) Intel 915.

Basically if connecting to a TV/monitor via the VGA cable everything is fine. However, if using the S Video socket the picture on the screen are blurred, fuzzy and a bit "block" suggesting an inadequate resolution or something is not syncing somewhere.

In system settings the existence of the TV is detected - I had put it down to simple poor functioning of the s-video subsystem provided by the intel driver (it's the same in Karmic BTW). I have never needed to actually use it, always being able to use VGA, so I've not really raised it as an issue.
