4.2 on exit fullscreen splashscreen bckgr appears

As the title says, whenever I exit fullscreen apps or just turn from fs to normal (kdetv, vlc,...) first there's a splashscreen background over the whole screen (for a sec-two) and then there's my desktop and everything's all normal again. This started happening after upgrading from 4.1.4 to 4.2 (had no problems with upgrade). It's not that big of a prob per se, but it's soooo annoying

Any ideas? Is this a bug? Should I report it? So far I haven't found a thread with this problem here.
