Ring of the Nibelung and Secret Life of Walter Mitty films for T-giving

I know, a film entitled " the Ring of the Nibelung " would never have even been discussed in the U.S. because the Elites have told everybody that they don't have enough brains to even BEGIN to UNDERSTAND (intoned with great reverence by said Elite ) something like Siegfried and the SCHOOLS certainly are not going to BORE students with it...so it was renamed but...

However, aside from the sometimes wooden acting of Siegfried, and it being a very LONG film --- it does an enjoyable job to give the basic story. And the dragon is actually believable. lol.

It would be a worthy thing to watch it with a teenager and later to play the Seigfried or whichever Opera on YouTube so that he or she can hear SOME of the opera.

One CAN WATCH THE FILM on You Tube also, it is in two parts under the title "Ring of the Nibelung". The beginning titles SEEM to indicate that it is in German but it is in English. Here is the linky for part 1.

But, for a Thanksgiving film as opposed to watching football it is worthy. Below is a linky for the Wikipedia Article: Dark Kingdom: the Dragon King.

    NEXT FILM

However a fun/ thoughtful / chick flick / epic / and just a great romp, film for everybody in the family, including teenagers, is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty with Ben Stiller:

It is a VERY ENJOYABLE film and a GREAT INTERPRETATION of the original short story by Thurber, which has been banned from U.S. high schools because some snowflake of a teacher has deemed it a "misogynist" view of Walter's wife... grrrr... We read it as sophmores in high school and were introduced to very low key, and also rather transcendent American Humour.

I, personally, think that the film has a chance to actually replace Sleepless in Seattle as the ultimate chick flick and also be viewed as more than a chick flick in that it is a very sophisticated film in terms of things like the "credits" which are actually IN the film, on billboards on busses, on sidewalks and carved into mountain sides... and it has...a great rendition of Major Tom!

So for those forum denizens who have time off for Thanksgiving, or just want to watch some good videos, enjoy!
