Riddell announces new KDE Neon project

    http://neon.kde.org.uk/

Seems (sort of) like a "Linux Mint" with focus on kde. That is, using Ubuntu repos for the base system, but continuous Qt and KDE software upgrades from KDE Neon repos (not ppas).

I've moved to debian for the most part, but this project seems a good way to stay in touch *buntus, with bleeding edge KDE, so I'm looking forward to what becomes of it.

Sort of like Mint but Clem says the Mint KDE won't switch to plasma 5 till version 18.

Well as Mint 18 will be based upon Ubuntu 16.04 you'll only have to wait a few months for it.

Also, I've just read that the project is built on 15.10, would'nt it be better to build it on an LTS (16.04)?

If I understood correctly, the plan is to use only LTS releases as the base system (16.04, 18.04 etc.), but they're probably waiting for 16.04 release to actually move to that since the mission is fresh KDE on a *stable* base.
