"Empty statements, hollow words" in my eyes.

That is actually the first time in the whole incident that the kubuntu council lost some respect in my eyes (for caving in). Ubuntu council lost the little it had left and Shuttleworth had none to be lost. Riddell seems to have taken the high road, and I'll give him props for that.

Not much other analysis of this that I can find yet.

(When did softpedia become a place to find news?) Jonathan Riddell Resigns from Kubuntu Community Council - Softpedia
The situation seems to have been resolved for now, although the problems that have led to all the discussions are still opened for debate.
Some provisions have been put in place so that this sort of thing won't happen again. Such disagreements and the lack of mechanisms that can solve these problems will only weaken the projects. In any case, Jonathan Riddell will continue in his role of Kubuntu developer, so things are not that dire.
      With a comment from Jonathan:
It's a sad day when the CC is more interested in my membership of a Launchpad team than in following the decision of the Kubuntu Membership or ensuring the team has the desire to continue. Today's Alpha 1 announcement says "The Kubuntu team are committed to releasing 15.10 in October. Updates, bug fixes and future releases are currently uncertain. " Having said that we have just voted on a new Kubuntu member so I guess this hasn't destroyed team morale completely.
I'd rather be locked out than locked in.

          Debian LTS Work May 2015

This was my first month as a Freexian sponsored LTS contributor. I was assigned 4 hours which was enough for me to update clamav to the current upstream version, 0.98.7. This resolves a stack of CVEs and enables LTS users to take advantage of the latest anti-virus signatures and features clamav offers. This is consistent with the way clamav is updated for Debian supported releases through proposed-updates. This is covered under DLA 233-1.
