They both look good - although the first one is for Kubuntu 22.10 and the second one for Kubuntu 23.04 (I guess the first one is not exactly named sources.list, is it?).
Did you dist-upgrade from 22.10 to 23.04?

The /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ directory is otherwise empty and you did not install something else with e.g. a .run or .sh or .deb file?
Then I indeed suspect some kind of packaging error and point you to post # 12 …

By the way, there were new updates today--nividia driver stuff--and no low latency or oracle kernels, so I guess the problem has been solved. But thanks for all the help, Ive learned how to do things I didn't know before.

To Schwarzer Kater (Black Cat): yes, I upgraded. I noticed that one list was for 23.04, and the other for 22.10, and wonder if that's what you get if you upgrade. It doesn't seem to be causing me any problems, but I'm curious as to why there are two different releases there.

When you do-release-upgrade to the next (K)ubuntu release version the installation process changes the entries in your /etc/apt/sources.list - e.g. from "kinetic" to "lunar" as you can see in your first file (or second - your order and labeling is a bit confusing to be honest…).
AFAIK a copy of the old /etc/apt/sources.list file is made and renamed to e.g. "sources.list.distUpgrade" (that is why I asked what its exact name was ). Therefore it is ignored by the system's package manager afterwards.

Your .list file for Kubuntu Backports also seems to be in order - according to the inxi output it uses "lunar" despite the name being "kubuntu-ppa-ubuntu-backports-kinetic.list".
