Ok, so I'm going into SystemSettings to look a few things and I find this under the advanced tab and selecting "Removable Devices".
It says: "Configure automatic handling of removeable storage media"
"The shared library was not found.Library 'kcm_device_automounter' not found"
"Possible reasons:
--an error occurred during your last KDE upgrade leaving an orphaned control module
--You have old third party modules lying around."
"Check these points carefully and try to remove the module mentioned in the error message. If this fails, consider contacting your distributor or packager."
Could this be the reason why:
1. Amarok won't play audio cd's
2. Kubuntu doesn't recognize external usb HD being attached when OS is up and running
3. Floppy drive not seeing the disk that is already in the drive and a file on the disk was just cut/pasted to another location.
PC consists of ASUS A7V motherboard with AMD processor, add-on audio card, usb card, ethernet card in a new ATX tower.
