burning stops at 12MB every time

    Hello Everybody,

this problem has been bothering me for some time now and I don't think it is hardware related, since the hardware works fine in Windows. SO here goes:

whenever I try to burn any media (CD/DVD) it stops at 12MB and does not continue. It doesn't quit with an error message, but just doesn't go any further. I had the same problem, while I was running Ubuntu for over a year now and the same thing now happens in Kubuntu. I am sure that the Burner works, because I use it in Windows whenever I really need to burn a DVD, so I am thinking it has to be software related.
Ufortunately I haven't found anything concerning this problem using Google and I cannot give you guys any hint, as no actual error occurs. The only thing is, that I already tried different programs and none worked.

As always, thanks for any pointers

    regards

    Kane

Hm, odd indeed. Vinny is right, space could be an issue. Doesn't matter how much you have left in / or ~ - if you told k3b that its tmp folder is xyz and xyz only has 128MB space then that is it. Anyway, so it may be worth checking your k3b settings - set the tmp folder to ~ and try again...

If that doesn't work try burning a CD either via CLI or get another gui burning programme (there is plenty out there) and give it another go. Oh, and report back, please
