    knetwork manager no wired device

    Hi All

I'm used to install kubuntu on a lot of virtual machine (vmware), it works great, but I have an annoying problem with knetwork manager.
When I choose the wired tabsheet I don't see any device, and obviously I cannot change the configuration (for example from dhcp to static ip). I can see it in the try icon (doing right click), but from there is not possible change the configuration.

Usually I disable the udev script that map the eth0 and I turn everything into the old /etc/network/interface file that I can easily edit by hand, but I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong or what could be the problem that doesn't allow me to configure in a comfortable way the network interface.
    Do you have any suggest?

    Thanks in advance

As far as I know, you need to remove all references to eth0 from /etc/network/interfaces if you want to manage it with knetworkmanager

That's exactly the situation after the standard installation, there is no reference to eth0.
could it be that installing on a vmware virtual machine, the eth0 doesn't appear?
I mean, usually in a non virtual machine does knetwork manager show eth0 in the wired tabsheet?
if it's sou I don't loose time to try to find the problem just keep use the old interfaces management, but if not probably I'm missing something or knetwork manager have a bug.
