Power manager

Hi,
I have been running 9.10 and its been brilliant so far, but the last few days the power manager is a bit weird. When i close the lid of the laptop it only sends it to sleep 50% of the time ( i have checked all the settings ) and when the power cord is plugged in it will not go back to preformance mode.
Any ideas?

That sounds like a hardware problem. Maybe the case is not latching when you close it so the switch (which is part of the latch on my old Dell laptop) is not connecting. However, that would not explain the failure to go back to performance mode, when you plug it in. I assume that you've checked ALL the power management settings in System Settings (including the two hard to find pages on the "Edit Profiles" page of "System Settings">Advanced>"Power Management").
