hi, I've got this sony mp3 player that kubuntu refuses to recognise. I'm on 9.10 now and it worked fine on 9.04 (I've had to do a format and reinstall since then) it also works on the same machine if I use an ubuntu livecd so it's not a hardware issue. If I plug it in, the lcd shows connected but kubuntu does nothing.
Here's some output.
dmesg
and that's all it does, it never settles no matter how many times I switch it out or what port I try.
lsusb show it up
I've done some hoking about and I found this
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...o2/+bug/355998
now I know that's for a different version of ubuntu and libgphoto (I'm on 2.4.6) but it's the exact same symptoms and this is also an mtp device so I was thinking it might be another bug, but I couldn't find any reference to 054c:036e in /usr/share/hal/fdi/preprobe/10osvendor/
am I talking out of my ass? any ideas?
