No sound in Firefox or Konqueror

I'm using 32bit 9.10 which I upgraded from 9.04. Prior to the upgrade sound worked in both Firefox and Konqueror. Now, sound doesn't work in either. If I go to Youtube, the video plays but no sound. I can play mp3's and avi's that are on my computer just fine, but I don't get anything from either browser. I reinstalled flash but that didn't help. What else should I do to try to fix this?

Not knowing anything about your system, the best advice is "back to basics" -- follow the sound troubleshooting guide here:

Thanks for the link, unfortunately it didn't help. Sound works for most everything, just not Firefox or Konqueror.

I have an MSI Nforce motherboard using the nforce audio output.

i'm having the same problem as above. i get sound from media player and everything else but no sound from any browser (ie. firefox koncoror. or chrome.) HELP!!! i want my HULU back.

check Kmix and make shure the PCM chanel is up and unmuted.

I finally fixed my issue by removing everything associated to Pulse Audio.

I finally fixed MY issue .but removing everything associated to Pulse Audio had nothing to do with me. uninstalling and reinstalling flash player about 74 times did it.
