    No Shutdown Option

I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 on my laptop. When logged in I no longer have the option to 'Shutdown' from either the KDE menu or the 'Lock/Logout' widget.

To troubleshooot, I've done the following:

    1. Moved my original .kde directory to .kde-old. NO CHANGE.
    2. Created a brand new never used before user account. SAME PROBLEM.

I've checked that the option to show the shutdown option is enabled in 'Session Manager' ('Offer shutdown options' checkbox IS checked.

Anyone have any ideas? It's really annoying having to logout THEN shutdown the system.

    Code:

I understand that you might prefer the scenic route, but I've always used the standard way which never fails.
    Code:
    sudo shutdown -h now
You don't have to log out, it works on all systems and versions, and there are other options too.
