I've noticed that the kde wallet pops up from time to time in an intrusive manner, and I don't understand why. It even pops up when I'm just trying to listen to some music with Amarok (occurs randomly, it seems). I'm wondering if any problem would be created if I removed kwalletmanager? Does Amarok require the kde wallet? Does konqueror? Why?

No. But I wouldn't remove it. You can go into System Settings and disable it from running.Windows no longer obstructs my view.
