i tried to recall it by typing 'sudo grub' in Konsole running LiveCD, but it gives me 'sudo: grub: command not found'
or is it because Kubuntu is 32bit version i'm again left scratching my head...please help.

when you uped to win7 it most likley over rote the grub boot loader in your MBR .....................so you nead to.

1- make shure it dident wipe Kubuntu in the prosess............fire up the live cd and
    Code:
    sudo fdisk -l
and see if your linux partition's are intact.

then if thay are still thar eather reinstall grub OR google adding Kubuntu to the windows bootloader..........ya it's posable........suposedley..... I have never done it

Ok, my Linux is located on sdb2. i typed all this
          Code:
          sudo mount /dev/sdb2 /mnt
          sudo grub-install -–root-directory=/mnt/ /dev/sdb
i restarted my PC...nothing happened. straight to W7 without bootscreen...

Re: no Kubuntu in boot option after upgrading to Windows7

If Win 7 is on sda and the PC is set to boot first from drive sda, then you need GRUB 2 to be installed to the MBR of sda:

            sudo grub-install -–root-directory=/mnt/ /dev/sda

Re: no Kubuntu in boot option after upgrading to Windows7

While booted into Kubuntu, try to generate a new boot menu by running
                          sudo update-grub

If that doesn't work, you can build a custom boot entry for Windows 7 and boot 7 using a chainloader statement.

That was quick! (I presume you tested it ... )
Lots of mixed results reported by users on this--some people say that update-grub wouldn't work for them.
                              Interesting.
                              Very glad you got it.
