Solved-Error since 4.3.1 upgrade this morning

I received the following error after this mornings KDE update. I have tried the usual dpkg configure and apt-get distupgrade and re-installing, all to no avail. Any suggestions?

    Setting up linux-image-2.6.28-15-generic (2.6.28-15.51) ...

Re: Error since 4.3.1 upgrade this morning

Yours is the second report of this problem today:

    http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...4415#msg194415

I'm no longer running 9.04 (got Karmic here), and cannot directly test the issue. But since it has happened on multiple 9.04 systems, one can suspect there is some problem in the 2.6.28-15 kernel packages. Your choices are (a) do nothing, cross your fingers, and wait or (b)
    Code:
    sudo apt-get remove --purge linux-image-2.6.28-15-generic
until whatever the problem is gets resolved.

Personally, I would give it 24 hours of waiting with crossed fingers -- it could be something as simple as delays in mirror synchronization.

Thanks dibl and I will give it 24 hrs. I do find it strange that "uname -a" says that I am running
      2.6.28-15-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP Tue Aug 18 18:40:08 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux, although apt-get says that -15 is not installed or un-installed.

I have the Kubuntu PPA repo enabled (i.e. I got the KDE 4.3.1 upgrade) but I'm still on kernel 2.6.28-15.49 and no upgrade is shown as available. Weird.

Re: Solved-Error since 4.3.1 upgrade this morning

I hate loose ends especially pertaining to the kernel so I solved the issue with a
"sudo apt-get remove --purge linux-image-2.6.28-15-generic". Everything is now happy, including me.

              Thanks for the quick replies!
