    kpackagekit crashes

I get this error when trying to install upgrades or other software:

The backend took too much time to process the synchronous request - you need to fork!

yes, it is broken in 9.04. After several updates it is working in my computer, but the easier thing to do is install synaptic and use it for now. To install it, open Konsole and type

    Code:
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install synaptic

Synaptic has the side benefit that it give a history everything you've added or removed AND WHEN you did it. It's under File --> History.
