Dvd movies hangs [solved]

The image of dvd movies has little hangings lot of times during playback... it doesn't play smoothly as it supposed to do.
What can I do to avoid it and make them play right?

You are watching with what program?

I use VLC. Try with that and check codecs.

Thanks. I'm trying the default program in Kubuntu 9.04, Dragon Player.

I guess i got all needed codecs, as the player asked me to install a lot of them when i first tried to play a dvd. I installed the ones it suggested me... is it there any other thing I should install in order to make it better?

ok, Thanks! VLC is much much better! (after all those changes and installations Dragon player still hangs)

I won't start that old discussion about "why isn't VLC default player", but it would really be a great choice.
