    Firefox looks ?

    Hi All
    Just started using Jaunty Alpha 6, no problems so far. Just one thing Firefox looks are ugly (to me). Whatever theme I use the drop down menus etc have a thick black outline/Shadow . How do I get rid of this?

    Just downloaded Opera and the same thing happens

    plenty of posts on this...just do a search...basically, you need to tell kde4.2 to use a different gtk engine.

    do a forum search for 'ugly firefox'

      Re: Firefox looks ?

      I got the kde4 add on theme from firefox ..that sorted a little better for me

      You have to register for this though ( not sure why) but it was no hassle

      Or there is this one

        Cheers , I tried changing the GTK styles in system settings but it does nothing. There was anther thread on the KDE forum which says one has to install gtk-qt-engine or gtk-qt-engine-kde4, but they dont show up in KPackage kit.

        @andy
        Thanks , will try those ..I normally use one of the Strata themes.

          OK guys I fixed it . Found kde-style-qtcurve in Kpackage kit and that did the trick

            Eh.. exactly how did it do the trick? I have the same problem and added the pack that you mentioned, but nothing has changed...

              Re: Firefox looks ?

              You need to go into System Settings|Appeatance|GTK something or other...and change the setting to qt-curve in the drop down box.

                Another option is the new Oxygen-Molecule theme on KDE-Look.org. It's designed to make GTK+ apps blend in with the default Oxygen style of KDE 4.2.
