Re: No SOund In Flash
I had a similar problem with Amarok after installing the Alpha 6 ISO. I ran apt-get dist-upgrade then installed some additional packages recommended by Amarok and the problem went away. I suspect you'll need to do something similar to get flash working.
UPDATE: I think there are still problems with PulseAudio. I updated yesterday from the repositories and do have sound in KDE and Amarok but not in Flash. I tried to test PulseAudio from Multimedia settings and it failed. This is a known problem. I found a number of threads on PulseAudio problems at the Ubuntu forums.

Re: No SOund In Flash
I had this problem and although there are hints in web about installing the 'flashplugin-nonfree-extrasound' package, all I had to do was to create a new empty file in my home directory with the name .asoundrc
Code:touch .asoundrc
Patenting software as bit pattern manipulation algorithms is absurd because you cannot patent mathematical algorithms.

Re: No SOund In Flash
I added the file, and believe I now have "sound" in flash. The reason why I am not sure what it actually is lies in the fact that pulseaudio is not working yet on my laptop. I just get some digital bzz from the speakers. ALSA, on the other hand works ok, not perfect, but most of the time ok.
So I think adding this file solves the problem.Regards,

Re: No SOund In Flash
I thought PulseAudio is not supposed to be enabled in Jaunty Kubuntu. The release notes say to purge it if it gets accidentally installed from DVD or upgrade. If we don't use PulseAudio then how do we mix audio? I have problems with getting audio from more than one application at a time after purging pulseaudio.
