help with alpha 5

I just installed kubuntu 9.04 alpha 5 alternate disk on my hp pavilion dv9205 notebook. I have never used kubuntu what so ever and I really like what I see so far. How do I add and remove software. Like flash plugins, firefox etc. I went to applications>systems>software management and I wasnt able to find any software to install. Please Help thank for you help in this matter.
