I must use a proxy to connect to the internet - more specifically, a proxy that requires authorization. My Network Settings will not let me check the box off so I can enter in my username and password. I have tried multiple ways to get my username and password sent out by manually spelling out the proxy address with my username and passwerod (http://usernameassword@proxy:3128) , but nothing has worked so far. Any suggestions for me to get through the proxy? Firefox works fine, but any program that requires system proxy settings cannot let me out to the internet (such as konqueror, synaptic, apt-get). I've had to manually export my proxy info in order to install programs throuh apt-get in the command line, but it is quite a pain. Thanks for any help!
