Re: Install side by side with windows XP pro sp3 - dual boot

I tried (with out install) the safe graphic mode and it worked.
The question is: if I now install it - will I need to enter using the safe mode all the time?

    Again thanks for your help

It may or may not 'just work', but what it will for sure do is allow us to log in via CLI and find out what is keeping the GUI from coming up.

So do you suggest that I install it from the trying mode and than check what was the problem some how?

OK and then after I installed it , if it won't log me in - how am I starting in graphic safe mode?

if it goes to black screen, press ctrl-alt-f1, login, and then enter startx, that will spit out some lines. you will want to look at where it fails to start. most likely it is due to a video driver issue. if that is the case, the proprietary nvidia driver should work for you, so I will help you install it.
