Unintended update to KDE 4.3 RC1

I added the backport to allow me to get an updated AMAROK. I forgot to uncheck it after that and on my next round of automatic updates my system updated kde to the 4.3 rc1. It kinda crippled my desktop, not completely broke it. Very difficult to get around and can't resize any windows, konsole doesn't work, etc.

I dropped down to root console at boot and installed xfce in order to get on the internet so that I could ask for a rescue.

How do I go about uninstalling the rc1 and going back to kde 4.2?
    root@americanrepublic:~$ apt-get install freedom<a href="http://ubuntucounter.geekosophical.net" title="The Ubuntu Counter Project - user number # 28196"><img src="http://ubuntucounter.geekosophical.net/img/ubuntu-blogger.php?user=28196" alt="The Ubuntu Counter Project - user number # 28196" /></a>

    You are not the first...

The latest version of the Amarok 2 (for the Jaunty) could be found from the Ubuntu backports / Unsupported updates > Topic: Amarok 2.1 Released

    - you could remove the KDE 4.3 RC1 packages, packages with the version number 4.2.95.
    - disable the Kubuntu backports PPA
    - after this install the kubuntu-desktop.

    Package: kubuntu-desktop
This package depends on all of the packages in the Kubuntu desktop system.
Installing this package will include the default Kubuntu KDE installation.

    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

Exactly the same happened to me a week or so ago. But to be honest, apart from a couple of Plasma crashes, I've had no problems with 4.3 RC1 and I'm staying with it. Before reverting back to 4.2, could you open bugs in Kde.org describing what did not worked well? That would increase the chances of those problems not affecting everybody when the final release arrives.

I couldn't get much of anything done in KDE.
