    Application Launcher Menu - Clean up?

    Recently I upgraded to Intrepid, not too sure about the new 'Kick Off' style menu (too much clicking around) so reverted to the classic style...

    Since the upgrade the groupings seem to have gone a bit haywire. In there I have:

    Settings - which contains: (nVidia settings, Java, KWallet Manager)
    Settings -> Components -> KDE Resources
    System - which contain various stuff (Backup, nVidia settings, Dolphin, Hardware drivers etc.)
    System Settings -> Advanced -> Advanced User Settings -> KDE Resources

    It seems bit of a mess. Is there a way to clean up these entries? Why the two KDE Resources entries? What does KDE Resources do anyhow?

    Thanks.

    Oh, I forgot to mention, that under 'System' I also have 'System Settings' which does actually open the proper 'System Settings' window. It used to be a top level entry under KDE 3.*

      Found it:

      RMB -> Menu Editor

        In the new Kickoff, you can also right-click the icon, then go to Settings and select "Switch tabs by hovering mouse" (or something). Now you only have to put your mouse on the tab you want (for example Applications) and then Applications will be opened without clicking.

          I don't get this. When I try to use the menu editor, the changes don't stick. For instance, if I edit Applications>Office to remove or refile items that I rarely or never use it saves the changed menu as Office-2 and places the original Office right back in Applications. If I delete or rename Office, it just comes back. What is up with this and how do I get it to obey my wishes >
