If you have copied text output that contains formatting (colors, highlighting, etc.), please do not enclose it in QUOTE or CODE tags. Just right-click your mouse and choose "Paste Without Formatting" or similar (Paste as plain text).
The firefox (or TBird) dialog box comes up, indicating printing, but there is no opportunity to select a printer and no print actually appears.
In Hardy this worked by opening about:config in firefox and changing a number of the print options in there to say "kprinter". I lost this when upgrading to intrepid I think, or perhaps it might have been a firefox update.
At this point the only way I can print a web page is to save it as a web page, open it in konqueror, and print it from Konq. I think this is a linux-wide problem and not just 'buntu.
