kde3 updates

Hi all. I installed Kubuntu Ibex from CD with kde 3.5 included because I do not like kde 4. Now the update manager wants me to upgrade hundereds of packages, total installation size over 200MB. I happen to know from seeing this before that this will install kde4, which I don't want.
The problem is since I told it to "forget the changes", I now have an update alert icon at all times, and have no way of knowing when new updates that I do want are available. What can I do?

I really don't think there's much you can do since Ibex is roped into kde 4 pretty tightly. You'd probably need to install Kubuntu Hardy which should not give you the same problems.
