vmware + xp

    vmware + xp

    Hi

    Installed the 30 day vmware and installed xp, but when i run it my whole system lags and the mouse is very jerky. in the vm and in kubuntu. I,ve installed the tools. any help with running the two in tandem smoothly.

    Running it on an Acer Aspire laptop with 1 Gig of ram

    I use the free VMware Player, now at ver. 2.5.1, and it runs a 8GB Win XP VM great, after installing the tools.

    You say "mouse" - is it a touchpad? It seems the SVGA driver is doing something to the X server. Maybe if you twiddle the Win XP display settings, something will change.
