    Can't Launch executables from Dolphin

With Konqueror, I was able to change the permissions on the file to executable (As I can with Dolphin) and double click on the file to run it. With Dolphin, I change the permissions and double click on it and it brings up a list of all my apps, asking me what I want to open it with.

How do I change this behavior?

    Thanks!!!

What file are you changing the permissions on to mark it executable?

As an example... In Konqueror, I can download a .bin file (in this case prey-demo-installer-10232008.bin) and change the permissions by right clicking the file as I can in Dolphin. However, in Konqueror, once I make it executable, I can double click the file and it will run as will other scripts I have. With Dolphin, if I repeat the steps and then double click to run the file, it just opens a dialogue asking me what application I want to open the file with.

You may still need to do the extra step of associating the .bin extension with a program to open it. Perhaps in the past that was done already, but it seems not so now.
