    Black screen after splash screen

    I have Kubuntu installed. but after splash screen it goes black with just a few white text words at the top of the screen. But also DURING the install...at the bottom of the screen the last set of words state "recursive fix reboot is necessary" any ideas?

    I would not be surprised if the machine is not logging in correctly if you're not able to finish the installation correctly. I think you should concentrate on fixing the install issue, this will likely fix as well the login issue. Are you able to log to a text console? To try that, press CTRL+ALT+F2 and enter the user name and password you choose during installation.

      Try safe graphics mode. Had a similar issue during install. For the install, one has to hit F4 at the start. Not sure what the key combo is for a normal logging via graphics safemode.
