    i have a question.... do we can fully install kubuntu intrepid ibex onto usb hdd...?

        Apart from holding your hand while you are installing - no :P

        Let it be said, however, that once you know the drives on your system and know where to put the bootloader you are pretty much home and dry.

          i have tried to do it.
          i know that my usb hdd drive is sdb
          but thre is no option to install bootloader in the sdb

            Live Kubuntu CD installer.
            Step 4: Choose "Manual" (method of partitioning).
            Step 5: do the thing about specifying what goes where (root /, home, swap).
            Step 6: Advanced button at lower right. GRUB: Specify (hd1) to put the bootloader in the MBR of your external HDD (I think -- based on sdb = hd1 (usually)).
            Your BIOS must support "Boot from USB."

              Two more question,
              since there is no pulldown option,
              do we just change "hd0" and type "hd1"...

              if my usb hdd detected as sdc,
              is "hd2" the place to install the bootloader....?
