    8.10 on external HD

    Ok so I have a laptop running vista home premium. Im gonna buy an external HD around 500GB. I want to install Kubuntu 8.10 on it. The external HD will always be connected to the laptop so can you help me?

      now will this be the full setup? i mean its not a thumb drive. So will it still work

        Same thing -- an external USB device.
        But, in any case, Reply #1 treats the external HDD as a special case.

        Read carefully there (in that whole thread) about different options for booting this show -- many choices, as explained there.
