    Improper monitor Display

    Hi all,

Here's my situation. I was using Kubuntu 8.04 with KDE 4 and KDE 3 simultaneously. KDE 4.x was working fine then. But I decided to use only one environment and made my choice to KDE 4 (Bad call ). I downloaded Kubuntu 8.10 ISO DVD (through Torrent) and burned it. Ran the installation.. Everything went well. (System installation successful)

Now, at the first boot the graphics collapses. Don't know how but my monitor's resolution was set to lower screen resolutions(640 x 480) and 85 Hz. As a matter of fact, my monitor supports only frequency upto 60 Hz and screen resolutions (800 x 600).

I tried changing resolutions and monitor frequency through "System settings" but no luck. Also reconfigured the X- server, but still unable to fix the issue.

Please help me guys. I don't want to switch back to KDE 3 .

    Regards,
    Bharat
