Pretty new to Kubuntu here and this might seem like a rather silly problem but: Had one, open account on a computer w/ 8.04. Downloaded and installed 8.10 then rebooted as instructed. Went to login on 8.10 only to find I had been locked out of my account! At the login screen I was prompted for a password I never created on 8.04.
Went to recovery mode and tried to access root shell prompt to change the invented password for account but the "root password" prevented me from doing so.
I tried login without password with account but it definitely requires one. Ideas? I'm sure the answer is straightforward but unfortunately I'm rather new to the process. Many thanks.
