Issues with nVidia Corporation C51PV [GeForce 6150] (rev a2) on AMD 64bit

    Hi!

I was directed here from the software section since it's believed that this might be a hardware problem.
Anyway, when I click the "Leave"-button before choosing "Shutdown" The whole screen (except for the dialogue-window containing the choices) goes "glitchy". I can't find a better word for it. It's like a distorted mess framing the choices (Shutdown, Log Out etc.).

    What could be causing this?

I'm running the 64-bit 8.10 version of Kubuntu.
Unfortunately I can't provide a screenshot since the "Print screen"-feature doesn't work in that state.

I've been getting this for a long time too.
No idea about why. Just been living with it.
    HP dv9000 laptop 6150GO.

Sometimes after a screen blank occurs it does it too, I do Ctl + ALT + f2 (or any other than f7)
then go back Ctl + Alt + f7 and it resumes, sometimes.
But if logging out and this happens I hit Ctl + Alt + f2 (or any other than f7) these screens are all bad as well but I
then do Ctl + Alt + Delete to reboot.

Just another on the massive list of stuff that don't work properly. For whatever reason.

It may sound strange, but make sure it's not unloading your graphics driver before closing the X server. I'm not sure how to hardcore check it, but you can start by disabling all desktop visual enhancements. If it shuts down clean, then try just disabling the extra animation for logoff.
