not able to install gimp

    not able to install gimp

    Hi all,

    In my system, I have as default 2.4 gimp version. But at present 2.6.6 is available. So In order to install the latest version. I uninstalled the old one and I try to install new version. But I am not successfull in that. The following error message I encountered.

    Please anyone help me to solve and install new version.

    The reason is simple. Hardy, Hardy updates and Hardy backports has Gimp 2.4.5 and 2.4.6
    If you want Gimp 2.6.6 you should try Jaunty.

    Look at packages.ubuntu,com

    Search for "gimp" - not the box below the search box is for distribution. Try hardy, hardy updates, hardy backports and see the version of gimp.
    Try Jaunty instead of Hardy and there is the current version of gimp.
    HP Compaq nc6400, 2Gi, 100Gi, ATI x1300 with 512M
