Missing OpenOffice text cursor [SOLVED]

Hi all,

I'm quite new in kubuntu, but not in Linux (previously I had Gentoo installed).

I've installed kubuntu 8.04-64bits in my shiny new Dell Inspiron 1525 without trouble but I've some issue using openoffice 2.4.1.

When I'm editing a document with writer, the text cursor appears only sporadically and it keeps hidden most of the time. In this circumstance it is difficult to edit the text.

Did someone solve the same issue? Can you help me?

Hi.

Finally I solved it changing in xorg.conf from the "vesa" video driver to the "intel" video driver.
