Quicktime

Does anyone know if the program "Quicktime" on the Apple website has stopped working with Kubuntu? I have Gecko and VLC etc. It had been working but stopped about three weeks ago and now all I get is "no video" and a blank movie screen.
Is there a fix for this?

There is a quicktime for linux in the repositories.
