    compiz no decorator

    hi people

i am here to ask for help. for a long time i cant seem to solve the problem with the eye candy , which removes all windows decorators (it started with beryl) when i load the compiz, However when i swich back to kwin windows manager, the decorators are fine.

now when i try to use the alt right-click combination to move the windows, there is no response from the computer (other then trying to mark text).

    sooooooo

i got amd, nvidia 6600gt kubuntu(latest upadates as far as i know).

any other information i can post here?

    thanks for any help.

    Re: compiz no decorator

That's a pretty notorious problem with Beryl and Compiz.

Did you install the emerald package? That is the default window decorator for Compiz. With compiz running (and no window borders) you should be able to enter in the console
    Code:
    emerald --replace
and get the emerald window decorator running.

Hi.. sorry i'm late replying.. but if you're still about and having the same problems
have a look here.. it may be a similay type of problem.. i had to do this ages ago on a Nvidia card i once had..

      - of course.. back up your xorg.conf if u try this.. and if x does'nt start, u can rename your backup file back to xorg.conf and restart x ..

Good luck .. if i'm not too late // though i probably am .. having only just joined this forum..
