    Help to diable Ad-Hoc Mode

I am a university student and recieved an email today telling me that my laptop connected to their network with "ad-hoc" mode enabled. I've looked around settings, unable to find anything, so then the forums, and only found people trying to get ad-hoc to work.

I need to disable ad-hoc. I would eternally appreciate any help to disable it. Thanks.

could you perhaps tell us what network manager your using?

knetworkmanager (if you didn't change it and ur using kubuntu) or perhaps another one you could find out if you hold ur cursor over it should tell you its name or perhaps after clicking on it.

from my understanding ad-hoc mode is only for connecting 2 machines with out a router.. and should not be enabled by default.
