    No Machine

I installed NX server on my Kubuntu system running 8.04. I installed the client, node and server package, as well as the server manager package.

Apache was also installed using adept.

However, when I try to go to http://localhost/nxmanager, I get the following error:

    Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /nxmanager/ on this server.
Apache/2.2.8 (Ubuntu) Server at localhost Port 80

Any ideas why I am getting this error?

Permissions on the nxmanager directory. No I don't know exactly where it is. You should make it world-readable.
I am running Ubuntu 8.10 (yes Gnome) with upgrades applied daily about 0900 UK time. Hardware is Dell Precision 420, 2x 800 MHz PIII, 512 MB RDRAM, nVidia GeForce 6800 128 MB AGP graphics, 18GB SCSI and 500GB IDE HDDs, DVD burner, Hauppage TV card.

Just to preempt another problem I ran into. You need to have an SSH server installed, such as OpenSSH. It's easy to miss or to just assume that you have it. I ran into it on a specialized machine where I didn't thought I'd need an SSH server.

        Re: No Machine - RESOLVED

Thanks for the help, guys. I did install an SSH server (Open SSH) and then opened the NX folder as root, and changed the permissions so that all could read & write instead of root.

        It worked like a charm!

        Thanks for the help!
